The club released a statement saying he had undergone a “successful operation”, adding “the plan is for him to return to training in around two months’ time”. Christian Benteke has returned to training after his knee injury but is still working his way back towards full fitness.
For Watford, Christian Kabasele and Andre Gray returned to training from their respective injury lay-offs on Thursday, but the game against Palace may have arrived too soon for the duo to feature.
